Cheras is not one place. It stretches from Taman Connaught through Bandar Tun Razak to Alam Damai, and getting from one end to the other at the wrong hour can take longer than driving into town.

Which makes “best dental clinic in Cheras” a slightly useless question. A better question is which clinic is close enough that you will actually keep the follow-up appointment, and whether it does what you need.

Five clinics below, grouped by where they sit rather than ranked. All have their own websites with checkable details — a lower bar than it sounds, given how much of what ranks for this search is directory listings copied between sites.

Taman Connaught

Koo Dental Clinic

Koo Dental Clinic

Jalan Sarjana · Mon–Sat 9:30am–7pm, Sun 9:30am–5pm

The equipment list here is more serious than most neighbourhood practices: CBCT 3D imaging, a digital intraoral scanner and a dental laser. That matters for implants and complex work, where planning from a 3D scan rather than a flat X-ray changes what the dentist can see.

Services run broad — scaling, fillings, root canals, crowns and bridges, dentures, implants, wisdom tooth surgery, paediatric dentistry, plus cosmetic work including veneers, whitening and laser gum contouring.

The clinic states it has five dentists, publishes transparent pricing, offers monthly payment plans for braces and free initial consultations for braces and whitening. Sunday opening is useful if weekdays are difficult.

Worth noting: the site mentions three locations across KL and PJ but lists branches under a second brand name at overlapping addresses. Confirm which clinic you are booking into.

KL Dental

KL Dental (Connaught)

Jalan Cerdas · Thu–Mon 10am–8pm, Wed 10am–4pm

Part of a four-branch group with another outlet at Sunway Velocity, which is the practical draw — you can start treatment at one and continue at the other without re-explaining your history.

The group covers Invisalign, implants including All-on-Four, veneers, braces, whitening, scaling, wisdom tooth surgery, paediatric dentistry, root canals, dentures, bridges and crowns.

Closed Tuesdays, and Wednesday is a half day.

Bandar Tun Razak and Sri Permaisuri

Dens Care

Dens Care

Danau Lumayan, Bandar Tun Razak · Tue–Fri 9:30am–9:30pm, weekends 9:30am–5:30pm

The late weekday closing is the standout. A clinic open until 9:30pm solves the problem of needing a dentist without taking leave, and that is rarer in Cheras than it should be.

General and cosmetic services: scaling, check-ups, X-rays, fillings, root canals, crowns and bridges, veneers, dentures, whitening, braces and clear aligners, extractions and minor oral surgery. Three dentists.

The clinic markets itself around easing dental anxiety and offers to redo work free if the result does not match what was agreed. It also carries an unusually high volume of Google reviews for a neighbourhood practice.

Monday hours appear under two different schedules on the website and Sunday is not listed. Call before going.

Alam Damai

Dentalane

Dentalane

Jalan Damai Raya 2 · Mon–Thu 10am–10pm, Fri–Sun 10am–6pm

Open until 10pm four nights a week, which is the latest on this list. For Alam Damai and the surrounding Cheras residential stretch, that is the convenience argument on its own.

Services are described in broad categories — general, orthodontic, cosmetic and restorative — rather than itemised, so ask about anything specific before booking. The clinic has online booking and states it accepts most major dental insurance plans, which is worth confirming against your own policy since direct billing for dental is less common in Malaysia than people assume.

No dentists are named on the site.

Sunway Velocity

Hello Dental Clinic Sunway Velocity, Cheras

Hello Dental Clinic

Sunway Velocity Mall · Mall hours

The Cheras branch of Hello Dental Clinic, which runs several clinics across KL and Selangor. The multi-branch structure is the practical benefit for anyone whose commute crosses the city: start near home, finish near the office.

Two things set the Sunway Velocity branch apart. It offers nitrous oxide sedation, which is not widely available at neighbourhood clinics and makes a real difference for patients who avoid dental treatment out of anxiety. And the group runs a sleep medicine and airway dentistry service alongside standard treatment, covering snoring appliances, tongue tie and myofunctional work — relevant if a child has feeding, speech or breathing issues that a general practice would refer elsewhere.

Beyond that: preventive, restorative, orthodontic, implant and cosmetic care, with clear aligners through both Invisalign and Angel Aligner, intraoral scanning, CBCT and digital smile design.

Mall location means parking and public transport are straightforward, and opening hours run to mall hours rather than clinic hours.

Choosing Between Them

Distance matters more than most people expect. Braces and implants mean appointments over months, and the clinic you can reach in ten minutes beats the one you admired online but dread driving to.

Beyond that, three things worth checking whichever you pick.

Registration. Every dentist practising in Malaysia must be registered with the Malaysian Dental Council and hold a current practising certificate. Several clinics in Cheras, including some above, do not name their dentists online. That is not a red flag in itself, but it means asking when you book.

Hours that fit your life. The late-closing clinics on this list — Dens Care until 9:30pm, Dentalane until 10pm — solve a real problem. A clinic that closes at 6pm is a clinic you will reschedule.

A written treatment plan. Itemised, with costs, before anything starts. Standard practice, and reluctance to provide one tells you something useful.

For a routine clean or filling, the nearest decent clinic is the right answer. For implants, complex orthodontics or surgery, it is worth asking who specifically would be doing the work and whether they are a registered specialist in that discipline — and travelling further if the answer points elsewhere.

A note on this list: clinics were included only where their own website provided verifiable details. Nobody paid for placement and the order is geographical, not a ranking. Opening hours and services change, so confirm directly before travelling.
